Addis Ababa: The Tigray Interim Administration has expressed its commitment to expediting the developmental needs of the people by strengthening the peace established in the region. This was stated during the formation of an Advisory Council comprised of members of the interim administration, political parties, civil society organizations, and security leaders.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Tigray Interim Administration President, Getachew Reda, emphasized that his administration is working diligently to consolidate the peace and respond to the public’s development demands. He also called on scholars, youth, civil society organizations, and political parties in the region to contribute their part in ensuring the success of the interim administration’s plans in various sectors to benefit the people.
Getachew noted that the newly formed Advisory Council will play a significant role in alleviating the region’s challenges. He emphasized the council’s crucial role in strengthening the democratic system, ensuring transparency and accountability, and achieving the goals set by the interim administration. According to Getachew, the Advisory Council includes members of the Tigray Interim Administration, political parties, civil society organizations, and security leaders.
The president also stated that it is a public institution that equally accommodates all ideas and opinions. He stressed the importance of focusing on building institutions that ensure public participation and noted that the council should lay the foundation for political activity in the region. During the event, the council’s chairperson and deputy chairperson were also elected.
