Tiga Kalmogo Appointed as New Provincial Director of Sports and Leisure in Kourweogo

Kourweogo: The new provincial director in charge of Sports and Leisure in Kourweogo, Tiga Kalmogo, pledged to address upcoming challenges during his installation by the High Commissioner of the province, Mahamadi Congo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Kalmogo, a certified teacher of civic and sports education, was appointed by the Council of Ministers on May 14, 2025. His installation ceremony took place on June 3, 2025, in Bouss©, attended by key figures from the province’s sports and leisure sectors. During his address, Kalmogo expressed his commitment to fulfill the mission entrusted to him and sought the support and guidance of stakeholders to ensure success.

Kalmogo assured promoters of sporting and leisure events of his readiness to support initiatives that promote the development of sports and leisure in Kourweogo. His predecessor, Mathieu L. Ou©draogo, passed the torch to Kalmogo with satisfaction, highlighting achievements such as the construction of sports infrastructure, structuring of local clubs, and securing land for sports spaces.

Ou©draogo expressed gratitude to the administrative authorities and collaborators for their commitment, which led to regional, national, and international achievements. The High Commissioner, Mahamadi Congo, praised Ou©draogo’s contributions and encouraged Kalmogo to continue fostering sports and leisure as tools for youth development and social cohesion.
