Thyou Initiative Empowers Youth with Training in Biometric Agriculture and Nursery Management

Thyou: The AURE SARL structure has officially launched a three-month training session on biometric agriculture and modern nursery management for 50 young individuals from Thyou, located in Boulkiemd© province. This initiative, observed by AIB, is designed to foster self-employment through market gardening and modern nursery techniques.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the program, supported by partner LUXDEV, aims to address socio-economic challenges such as youth unemployment and the scarcity of economic opportunities in rural areas. The training, which commenced at the Thyou Town Hall, will equip 25 participants with skills in organic market gardening, while another 25 will focus on managing and creating modern nurseries.

Ms. Sonia Kabor©, president of AURE SARL, highlighted the pressing need for such initiatives, given the potential of the commune's fertile land. She emphasized the strategic importance of agriculture and seedling production in generating sustainable income and enhancing national food security.

The ambition of AURE SARL and LUXDEV extends beyond imparting technical knowledge; it aims to instill entrepreneurial skills among the participants. "The objective is clear: to enable these young people to create their own activities so that they can actively contribute to the development of their community," Ms. Kabor© stated.

Upon completion of the 90-day training program, these young participants are expected to harness the agricultural potential of Thyou, turning it into a thriving economic enterprise.
