Polokwane – Three men were arrested on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Ladanna Industrial area, just outside Polokwane, for possession of a suspected stolen Earth Moving Machine (TLB). The arrest took place along Vermikuleit Street.

According to South Africa Police Service, the suspects had robbed the TLB at gunpoint from its driver in the Atok area within the Burgersfort precinct the previous day, on November 3, at about 16:00. The machine was then loaded onto an Abnormal Heavy Load Truck and transported to Polokwane, along with the driver, who was restrained with cable ties.

In a further development, the victim was reportedly kidnapped early today and placed inside the boot of a Volkswagen VW Polo, with two occupants. The victim was later abandoned at Leeukuil Plot, Percy Five, in the Mashashane policing area.

During their apprehension, the police seized both the TLB and the Volkswagen VW Polo used in the commission of the crime. The ages of the suspects are yet to be confirmed. They are expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

The police have indicated that their investigations into this matter are ongoing.
