Three Arrested for Drug Possession in Operation Shanela

QUEENSTOWN – A high-density operation targeting crime in Queenstown and Thornhill led to the arrest of three individuals for drug possession. The operation, conducted yesterday, was part of a broader effort to combat drug-related crime in the area.

According to South African Police Service, the operation involved stop and search activities in known hotspots. The three suspects, aged between 28 and 40, were found in possession of drugs with a street value of R7000. This arrest is a significant development in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and its associated crimes in the region.

The suspects are scheduled to appear at the Queenstown Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 15, 2024. The arrests highlight the police’s commitment to disrupting the drug trade and ensuring community safety.
