The Zak-La Yilguemde Association Renews Educational Support Project in Zoundweogo

Zoundweogo: The Zak-La Yilguemde Association (AZLY) relaunched its support project "At School in Complete Serenity (AETS)" on Saturday for a period of five years after a positive assessment. According to Burkina Information Agency, the Zak-La Yilguemde Association is renewing its "At School in Complete Peace of Mind" project in its area of operation. The AETS project, implemented since 2022, covers five schools in the municipalities of Gogo and Guiba: the Dissomey and Kiougou general education colleges, the Gogo and Guiba departmental high schools, and the Mbouta public primary school, thus strengthening access to inclusive and safe education for vulnerable students. Funded by the Dutch partner Kinderpostzegels, this project supports the educational community in the Zoundweogo province through its "children's portfolios" sub-projects. This sub-project aims to empower children to help each other and maximize their chances of success at school. Given its positive impact on schools in the intervention areas, the Association has renewed the project until 2031, according to Emile Pingdwende Ouedraogo, Project Manager. "The results of the first phase of project implementation were positive, and the objectives were met. And in light of its impact, the partner has renewed the AETS project for five years," said the Project Manager. The Provincial Director of Secondary, Vocational and Technical Education (DP-ESFPT) for Zoundweogo, Georgette Nikiema, expressed her gratitude to the Association for its support in the education sector in the province. She then expressed her hope that this project, given its positive impact on academic performance, would be extended to other schools in the province. All the students and education stakeholders present at this meeting welcomed the news and promised to become more involved in achieving the assigned objectives. It's worth remembering that in 2023, the top-performing national student in the BEPC exam, Albert Ilboudo [with an average of 19.15/20 - Ed.], came from the Associatio n's intervention area and was among the beneficiaries of the AETS project. And thanks to one of its sub-projects, "The School Newspaper," the Dissomey CEG (General Education College) was selected to participate in the Galian Schools Awards in 2024.
