The Universal Peace Federation Honors 500 Peace Ambassadors in Zorgho

Ganzourgou: The Universal Peace Federation awarded 500 peace ambassadors on Saturday in Zorgho during a ceremony presided over by the High Commissioner of Ganzourgou, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the patronage of the Minister and Special Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso on good governance, Ragnang-newende Isidore Tiemtore, with co-patronage by Zakaria Sore. The ceremony centered on the theme: "Civic Engagement for a Culture of Peace and Social Cohesion in Ganzourgou."

Sadou Zidwemba delivered a presentation on social cohesion, tolerance, and peace, which was followed by commendations from Hamado Kabore, the chairman of the organizing committee, who praised the mobilization of stakeholders.

The awards ceremony included the presentation of certificates and sashes to the recipients, recognizing their actions in support of peace and encouraging their continued commitment to fostering lasting peace in the province. In her address, Ms. Sorgho/Gouba emphasized the initiative's role in "establishing peacemakers" and urged the awardees to act as "guardians of social cohesion" within their communities, particularly by engaging the youth.

Ms. Sorgho/Gouba also paid tribute to the defense and security forces, along with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), while reiterating the provincial administration's dedication to supporting peace and reconciliation initiatives.

The event was attended by administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as civil society organizations.
