The Presidential Orchestra of Burkina Faso Honors National Heroes Through Music

Ouagadougou: The Presidential Orchestra of Burkina Faso organized a public concert on Friday, July 31, entitled "Concert of Resilience and Triumph." This concert brought together institutional authorities, sons and daughters of the province and surrounding areas to celebrate African and Burkinab¨ culture, strengthen the resilience of the Burkinab¨ people, and acknowledge the victories already achieved by our Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and Defense and Security Forces (FDS).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Presidential Orchestra of Faso (OPF) transformed the Place de la Nation in Manga into a grand stage of celebration this Friday during the "Concert of Resilience and Triumph", an evening dedicated to magnifying the successes and efforts of the VDP and the FDS in order to consolidate African and Burkinabe culture at the heart of popular resilience.

The ceremony, which was welcomed with a soundscape, was enhanced by the presence of the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, PingdwendGilbert Ou©draogo, accompanied by regional authorities. In his opening speech, the minister praised the "heroism and dedication" of the VDP and the FDS, recalling that culture is a peaceful weapon that consolidates national unity.

He also argued that this concert is in line with the wish of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) contained in The Manifesto to make "cultural rearmament" a real lever of social cohesion and of the enhancement of our cultural heritage. Performances by renowned artists including Maria Bissongo, Zedess, Bil Aka Kora, and Smarty set the night ablaze. For over four hours, these artists and the artistic ensemble of the Presidency of Burkina Faso kept the audience enthralled and excited until midnight.
