The President of Niger receives the President of the Government of National Unity in Niamey.

Niamey, March 15, 2023 (LANA) – The President of Niger, “Mohamed Bazoum,” received, at the presidential palace in the capital, Niamey, this afternoon, Wednesday, the head of the government of national unity, “Abdelhamid Al-Dabaiba,” and his accompanying delegation, who began an official visit to Niger.

During the interview, which was attended by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Niger, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and the President of the Libyan Investment Authority, President Bazoum expressed his happiness with the Prime Minister’s participation in the “Made in Libya” exhibition held in Niger, which confirms the importance of Economic cooperation and support for the private sector between the two countries.

According to the media office of the prime minister, Bazoum affirmed his support for the efforts led by the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, to reach elections in Libya, and his support for the efforts of the national unity government to achieve stability in the country and lead it to elections.

In turn, Al-Dabaiba stressed – according to the same source – that stability in Libya and Niger and the elimination of illegal immigration comes through economic cooperation and support for investment programs between the two countries.

The meeting dealt with a number of security files related to the stability of the south and the regulation of borders in coordination with a number of friendly countries, as well as coordination to support Libya’s efforts to complete the establishment of the African Investment Bank, one of the institutions of the African Union.
