The People of Tenkodogo Extend Enthusiastic Welcome to Their Sovereign

Tenkodogo: The people give their sovereign a warm welcome

After 21 days of absence from Burkina Faso, His Majesty Naaba Guiguempol© Dima of Zoungrantenga returned to Tenkodogo this Sunday to the cheers of a huge crowd who came to give him a popular welcome at the entrance to the city.

According to Burkina Information Agency, very early in the morning, men, women, young people, traditional dignitaries, and people from the surrounding villages converged on the Tenkodogo tollbooth to welcome the king of the Naaba Zoungrana dynasty, returning from a stay abroad.

In an atmosphere of fervor, traditional songs, drumbeats, and cries of joy, the royal procession entered the city under the admiring gaze of the people, who were highly mobilized to show their attachment to the customary sovereign.

Upon his arrival, His Majesty Naaba Guiguempol© Dima of Zoungrantenga praised the exceptional mobilization of the sons and daughters of Zoungrantenga and expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome he received.

The sovereign also implored the spirits of the ancestors to protect the royal city, bless the people, and strengthen peace, social cohesion, and living together in the province of Boulgou and beyond.

Throughout the journey to the royal palace, the people accompanied the king in a popular procession marked by displays of joy and respect for customary authority.

For many inhabitants, this return of the sovereign has a strong symbolic significance, reflecting the attachment of the people to traditional values and the customary institution.

This popular mobilization testifies, once again, to the important place occupied by His Majesty Naaba Guiguempol© Dima of Zoungrantenga in the preservation of the traditions, social unity, and cultural identity of the city of Tenkodogo.
