Because of the rainy weather, the president of the special delegation of Ouargaye, Mahamoudou Soulama, prohibited swimming in the dam of the locality, in order to avoid drownings.
Mr. Soulama particularly urged host parents and IDPs to sensitize their children so that they do not visit the roadblock.
The authority warned that any offender is liable to penalties, in accordance with the regulations in force.
It is recalled that in early August 2023, two young men aged around 16 lost their lives by drowning, one of them at the Ouargaye dam and the other while trying to cross a river.
