M©guet: On the occasion of the 2nd edition of the Customs and Traditions Days this Thursday, May 15, Naba Saaga, traditional chief of M©guet, offered chickens and a ram as sacrifices to the ancestors in his palace. A spiritual process during which he implored peace for Burkina Faso, a good rainy season, and divine protection for the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was recognized as an opportunity for all religions to discover traditional practices. Naba Saaga expressed his appreciation for the government’s initiative to establish a dedicated day for traditions, which he stated pleases both customary and traditionalists.
The traditional sacrifice was performed by the Tingsoaba of M©guet, in the presence of local customary authorities, directors, and heads of provincial services, with the High Commissioner of the province of Ganzourgou, Mrs. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, leading the delegation.
This commemoration is intended to promote cultural roots, strengthen social ties, and recognize traditions as a part of building a peaceful Burkina Faso.
