The High Commissioner Calls for a Revolution in Mindsets by 2026

Sourou: The High Commissioner of the Sourou province, Desire Badolo, invited the entire population of his district on Tuesday, on the occasion of the first monthly raising of the colours of the year 2026, to revolutionize mentalities and behaviours during the new year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the traditional raising of the national flag took place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Tougan, in the presence of key figures from the province. For this first ceremony of 2026, the chosen venue was the city's courthouse. On this occasion, High Commissioner Desire Badolo urged all residents to adopt a change in attitudes and behaviors.

Mr. Badolo noted that the choice of this location carries strong symbolic significance, as it marks the effective return of the judicial administration to the province after a period of relocation. "The choice of this location symbolizes the return of the judicial administration to Tougan more than a year ago. It is also a way to pay tribute to those who, alongside other forces, contribute to the fight against insecurity," he declared.

He further commended the community for their accomplishments over the past year. "I congratulate you on the work accomplished during 2025, which has allowed us to overcome major challenges." He urged the populace to maintain this momentum to face even more challenges in 2026. Additionally, he encouraged a revolution in mindsets and behaviors to embrace the dynamic of the progressive and popular revolution.

The top official of Sourou province concluded by extending his wishes for health and peace to the province's key stakeholders, enabling them to face the challenges of the new year, while also paying tribute to the memory of the combatants and civilians who fell during 2025.
