The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE paid an unannounced visit on Saturday morning to families of members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) who fell on the field of honor for their country.
Inquiring about the living conditions of widows and orphans, comforting and encouraging the families of fallen soldiers, this is what led the Head of State Captain Ibrahim TRAORE to the homes of gendarme Siambou OUATTARA, police officer Philipe COULIBALY and soldier Théophile TAOUDYENDE.
They paid the supreme sacrifice for the defense of the fatherland.
“We came to visit you this morning to show you our encouragement, inquire about your news and see if all is well”, declared the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE to the various families visited.
“I had never imagined and I had never believed that one day the Head of State would visit us,” declared Lucie BOGNANA, widow of police officer Philipe COULIBALY, deeply moved. For her, this visit of the Head of State is a reason for relief.
"This visit comforts us and boosts our morale," said Souleymane OUATTARA, father of the late Constable Siambou OUATTARA who said blessings and prayers for a victorious end to the war against terrorism.
“I did not know that the Head of State could visit my modest person. Really, I am very moved,” said Mrs. TAOUDYENDE/SAWADOGO Roselyne, widow of soldier Théophile TAOUDYENDE who shared her conviction of the victory of the Defense and Security Forces over armed terrorist groups.
The various families expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for the messages of encouragement and for the support shown.
On this occasion, the President of the Transition reaffirmed his commitment to make every effort to provide adequate care for the wards of the Nation and to ensure the training of widows in trades in the various training centers of the National Armed Forces in order to enable them to have financial autonomy.
"In perspective, there is an agency that we are creating at the Presidency to take care of widows, orphans and the wounded", announced the Head of State.
He also recalled his commitment and his determination to lead our country to victory against the forces of evil. "The fight we have engaged in is also so that our heroes can sleep in peace," he said.
