The Dozos Triumph in the Third Edition of the Justice Cup

Kouls: The Dozos team won the 3rd edition of the Justice Cup on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Bobo Court of Appeal, against the notaries team following a penalty shootout after a draw (0-0) at the end of regulation time.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the competition was conducted under the theme "Justice and citizen trust: strengthening the links between the State and the population". It took place within the premises of the Court of Appeal of Bobo-Dioulasso and was attended by administrative, judicial, military, paramilitary, customary and religious authorities, as well as numerous guests.

The nail-biting match concluded without a clear winner after regulation time, leading to a penalty shootout where the Dozos emerged victorious over the Notaries with a score of 1-0. This victory crowned them as champions of this third edition of the Justice Cup.

A significant feature of this edition was the introduction of video assistant refereeing (VAR) to enhance the quality of decisions during the matches.

During the awards ceremony, the Dozos received the trophy, an envelope containing 200,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The Notaries, as runners-up, were awarded an envelope containing 100,000 FCFA, a special prize from the Attorney General worth 100,000 FCFA, and were recognized as the fair-play team of the tournament.

The National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) secured third place, receiving 40,000 FCFA and a ball, while the National Police, coming in fourth, were awarded 20,000 FCFA and a ball.

A total of 21 teams from various constituted bodies of the Guiriko region participated in this edition. Event organizer Adama Oudraogo highlighted the Justice Cup as a unique platform for promoting fraternity, dialogue, reconciliation, and strengthening trust between institutions and the public. He acknowledged the dedication of the authorities, partners, sponsors, and media in making the event a success.

Speaking on behalf of the sponsors, Yacouba Dembl, President of the Order of Notaries of Burkina Faso, commended the initiative and the commitment of all stakeholders, while also recognizing the judicial officials' efforts to make justice more accessible to citizens.
