Bangkok: Thailand’s business sentiment improved in June, thanks to recovery in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, the central bank said on Tuesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Southeast Asian country’s business sentiment index (BSI) was recorded at 48.6 last month, rising from 46.7 in May. This increase was driven by significant improvements in most components of the index, particularly production, total order books, and export conditions.
The three-month expected BSI slightly increased to 49.5 in June from 49.4 in May, even as the manufacturing index faced challenges. The end of a U.S. tariff exemption has negatively impacted exports, contributing to the ongoing decline in the manufacturing index.
The data for this reading was collected from a survey involving 701 respondents from large and medium-sized firms, providing a comprehensive overview of the country’s business environment.
