Banfora: A large-scale military operation by the Burkinabe army led to the neutralization of several dozen attackers near the Ivorian border. On May 13, 2025, following intelligence regarding a planned threat against Banfora and its surroundings, the operation was initiated in the Dida forest.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation, named 'Green Whirlwind 3', was executed by units of the 2nd Rapid Intervention Group and the 7th BIR, with support from air vectors. The operation commenced with a first strike at 2:26 p.m., followed by a coordinated ground offensive.

The attackers, attempting to escape, were pursued and engaged even in their hiding places, resulting in significant losses for the group throughout the night. In addition to neutralizing the threats, the Burkinabe forces recovered substantial supplies from the operation.
