Terrorism: President Traor© Urges Religious Leaders to Preach Peace and Reconciliation

Ziniar©: Faso President Captain Ibrahim Traor© on Thursday urged religious leaders to intensify their preaching to persuade those who have taken up arms to renounce violence. He warned that if they persist on this path, they will be neutralized.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of state declared his hope that religious leaders will take advantage of this month of fasting in Ramadan and Christian Lent to preach the good word to those who have gone astray and who wrongly think they are killing in the name of religion.

Speaking before the Forces vives of Ziniar©, Captain Traor© insisted on the need to mobilize religious authorities in order to make the followers of evil understand that they are being manipulated by groups pursuing ulterior objectives. He emphasized that religion is about peace and cohesion and that no religion preaches violence against one's fellow man, nor killings.

In any case, the President warned that if those who have taken up arms refuse to lay them down, they will be neutralized. Since coming to power in September 2022, President Ibrahim Traor© has placed the fight against terrorism, endogenous development, and national sovereignty at the heart of his priorities.
