Nahouri: The territorial gendarmerie brigade is giving way to the national police in Po. The territorial gendarmerie brigade of Po officially handed over to the national police on Thursday, December 4, 2025. This closure of the brigade follows the implementation of the decree determining the areas of responsibility of the national gendarmerie and the national police.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the territorial gendarmerie brigade of Po officially closed its doors this Thursday morning, December 4, 2025, after 67 years of loyal service to the population of the commune of Po. From now on, it will be up to the national police to ensure the exercise of judicial police powers in the said municipality.

The Commander of the gendarmerie company, Captain Oumarou Zabsonre, accompanied by the Brigade Commander, Chief Warrant Officer Issa Konate and the staff, went to express their gratitude to the local authorities for their support since the opening of the brigade in 1958.
