Tenkodogo: The TenkoEventsPlus Association organized a conference in the Regional Council meeting room on the theme 'Youth and corruption: what are the social and security issues' and on the sub-theme 'Employability of young people in times of crisis', for pupils and students. Chaired by Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, Governor of the Centre-East region, and sponsored by Emmanuel Sorgho, consular representative and member of the Regional Employers' Council, as well as Adja Assèta Oubda, Vice-President of the Regional Employers' Council, the conference was attended by Mrs. Kéré/Balima Sabine, consular representative, Bérenger Poda, President of the special delegation of Tenkodogo, Doctor Ibrahima Sorgho, lecturer-researcher at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, and Adaman Kamboné, project manager. According to Burkina Information Agency, this conference aims to encourage pupils and students to adopt honest behavior and turn away from corruption. Three panelists led the conference: Mohamed Sawadogo, central commissio ner of the city of Tenkodogo, squadron leader Pascal Zida, commander of the Place d'Armes, and the general director of Scoop-CA Burkina Mine. They emphasized that corruption poses a threat to the socio-economic development of the country. The panelists explained that corruption weakens the social fabric and disrupts trust between the government and its citizens. They stressed the necessity for political will, led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to be supported by the public to combat corruption at all levels. This requires a transformation of mindsets towards values of integrity, dignity, probity, honor, and patriotism, rather than the pursuit of easy gains. To foster such commitment, it is crucial to educate pupils and students, the future public administration officials, ensuring they remain incorruptible. This initiative was applauded by regional authorities. The high commissioner of the Koulpelgo province, representing the governor, urged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the conference.
