Tenado: The Prefect and President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Tenado, Asm¨de Dianda, inaugurated the Djeli district public primary school in the village of Tialgo on Saturday, February 28, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the school is the result of collaboration between local residents and the NGO Buildon, and it has already started welcoming its first class of 94 students. The opening of the Tialgo-Djeli school is seen as a significant step forward for access to education in the commune of Tenado. This achievement was made possible due to the civic engagement of the village's residents, supported technically and materially by the NGO Buildon. The new infrastructure has opened its doors to 94 students who are enrolled in the first year of preparatory classes (CP1).
The ceremony began with the performance of the national anthem in the Lyele language by the new schoolchildren. Prefect Asm¨de Dianda remarked that the event signifies "the birth of hope and the awakening of a generation." He commended the determination of Tialgo's residents who successfully engaged partners to realize this project. Dianda emphasized that education is a collective responsibility and encouraged parents to participate actively in the school's activities. He also expressed gratitude to the NGO Buildon and other partners involved in the development.
The PAIMEL Burkina Association is among the supporters of this initiative and has already promised to drill a well on the site to provide drinking water for the students. The event was further highlighted by the presentation of a giant poster of the Head of State to the school by a delegation from the Presidency of Burkina Faso. Pema Neya, the President's Special Envoy to the Nando Region, conveyed a message from Captain Ibrahim Traore, acknowledging the community's effort and dedication.
Gregoire Bado, the spokesperson for Tenado's residents, paid tribute to the local community, especially the women, for their hard work on the construction site. He also submitted several requests to the authorities, including the complete upgrading of the new school and the transformation of the Tialgo high school into a comprehensive high school.
The ceremony concluded on a note of gratitude towards the partners and friends of the village who supported this initiative.
