TSUMEB: An 18-year-old male student was arrested by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, for allegedly possessing cannabis with an estimated street value of N.dollars 16,700. The incident occurred on Monday evening in the Omashaka locality and has sparked further investigations by local authorities. According to Namibia News Digest, the arrest was made around 18:20 at Omashaka location. NamPol's Acting Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner Wynand Neels, reported that the young man, also a learner at a local school, was apprehended during a routine body search which led to the discovery of cannabis in his backpack. "It is alleged that during the body search, the suspect was found in possession of cannabis in his backpack," Neels stated. He further detailed that a half parcel of cannabis weighing 334 grams, valued at N.dollars 16,700, was found. The suspect has been detained and is slated to appear in the Tsumeb Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. The case has been registered under ch arges of dealing in and possession of cannabis. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the incident.
