According to Burkina Information Agency, this event was organized under the auspices of the community watch group, featuring a match between the Sikoro Students and Pupils Association (AEES) and the Paasin team, whose name translates to "power is good" in the Bwamu language. The final score was a decisive 3-1 victory for the Paasin team, highlighting their strength and coordination on the field.
Faustin Coulibaly, president of the community watch group, emphasized the importance of the match in maintaining resilience and promoting social cohesion among the village's youth. He noted that the event marks the beginning of their activities for the year 2026 and serves as a platform for fostering unity.
Paasin captain Lion Tiawara remarked on the significance of the match in reinforcing social cohesion and community spirit within Sikoro. His counterpart, AEES captain Mikaleme Coulibaly, shared his delight at the success of the holiday event, attributing the positive atmosphere to the relocation efforts in the village.
Coulibaly also praised the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), acknowledging their sacrifices and resilience in protecting the village despite challenging conditions. The community watch group president, along with other local leaders, extended congratulations to both teams for the exemplary sportsmanship displayed throughout the match.
