Tannounyan: Civic Values ??Delivered to the Tannounyan People

Tannounyan: The National Office of Major Projects, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, organized a regional public conference on civic values in Banfora, Tannounyan region. The event, held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, was facilitated through the Coordination of the Presidential Initiative for Community Development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference brought together a diverse group from the region, including the Defense and Security Forces, public administration, traditional and customary chieftaincy, the Dozos, the immersed, women's associations, students, civic watch actors, and civil society organizations. The event was led by the Governor of Tannounyan, Badaboue Florent Bazie, with Minister of State for Agriculture, Ismael Sombie, as the guest of honor, and Lieutenant-Colonel Lassane Porgo, the commander of the 2nd military region, as a special guest.

The governor acknowledged the significant participation of the population who attended the event in large numbers at the multipurpose hall. Benjamin Sow, the Director General for the Promotion of Citizenship and Peace at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, indicated that these conferences were initiated to address the gradual erosion of Burkinabe social values. He noted that this conference is part of a broader series planned across all 13 regions of the country. The objective is to promote civic-mindedness, patriotism, social cohesion, and peace, in line with the vision of the country's highest authorities who aim to empower Burkinabe citizens to develop their nation.

Mr. Sow emphasized the importance of embracing civic duty, citizenship, patriotism, and peace. The conference featured presentations on three main themes: "Civic Duty and Citizenship," "Patriotism and Citizen Participation," and "Culture of Peace and Social Cohesion." After the presentations, representatives from different sectors of the region expressed their appreciation for the initiative and voiced their support for President Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, and his administration in their ongoing efforts for national development.
