TANGHIN-DASSOURI: The commune of Tanghin-Dassouri recognized the academic achievements of its top students and teachers during a communal day of excellence, rewarding 30 students and 10 primary teachers for their outstanding performance in the 2023-2024 school year. According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, held at the town hall on Saturday, celebrated the best primary, post-primary, and secondary students, along with 10 primary school teachers, two of whom achieved a 100% success rate in the Primary School Certificate (CEP) for 2024. The honored students received bicycles and school kits, while those in post-primary secondary schools were awarded laptops. Teachers with a perfect CEP pass rate received certificates of merit, and the two top-performing teachers were each gifted a new motorcycle. Rabiata Sawadogo, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Tanghin-Dassouri, emphasized the importance of recognizing the hard work of students and teachers, stating, "Our students are the next gene ration of our country. They are the ones who will ensure the continuity of our country's development." She highlighted the value of education as a transformative tool, referencing Nelson Mandela's belief in its power to change communities. Sawadogo also committed to further enhancing the education system in Tanghin-Dassouri, expressing the delegation's dedication to creating a supportive environment for educational success. "We remain fully committed to doing more. Additional efforts are needed to ensure that every education stakeholder has an environment conducive to growth and success," she asserted. The event also acknowledged internally displaced students and those with reduced mobility, underscoring the inclusive approach of the delegation's initiative. The distinguished students and teachers expressed gratitude, with laureates' representative Fadilatou Gnessi pledging continued dedication to excellence. The commune reported an admission rate of 76.92% for the CEP, 52% for the BEPC, and 62% for the BA C at the end of the school year, highlighting the academic achievements of the community.
