Tampouy E CEG Director’s Cup: 3rd Grade “A” Class Claims 2026 Trophy

Ouagadougou: The 3rd A team emerged victorious in the Director's Cup of the General Education College (CEG) of Tampouy, defeating the 5th team with a score of 5 goals to 3 in the final held on Thursday, April 30 in Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the final match of the Director's Cup at the Tampouy E General Education College (CEG) took place within the Ouaga 2 Secondary, Vocational and Technical Education District. The 3rd "A" class triumphed over the 5th "A" class after a match that consisted of two 30-minute halves, concluding with a score of 5 to 3. This victory followed their semi-final success against the 4th "A" class.

The competition, which commenced in mid-February with participation from eight teams representing different classes, reached its conclusion on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The final match witnessed intense competition between the two teams, observed by a crowd of students, teachers, administrative staff, and local residents.

The victorious 3rd "A" team received a cash prize, the winner's trophy, and medals, while the 5th "A" team, as the runner-up, was also awarded a trophy, a cash prize, and medals. The event was marked by a speech from the headmaster of the CEG, Wendpanga Pierre Kabore, who expressed gratitude to secondary education officials for their support throughout the academic year. He also praised the teaching staff for their dedication to student education under challenging conditions.

In his remarks to the finalists, the director of the Tampouy E CEG emphasized the importance of sports, particularly football, as a means of fostering cohesion, urging the players to maintain fair play and discipline.

Dr. Evariste Bakone, the competition's patron, shared his honor in being selected for the role and congratulated the final teams. As a cardiologist, he took the opportunity to educate students on the dangers of harmful products, advising against the consumption of cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, shisha, and energy drinks, highlighting their negative impact on health and academics.
