Nyeri Partners with Dorcas Rigathi Foundation to Establish Health Village

NYERI – Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has formalized an agreement with the Dorcas Rigathi Foundation for the creation of a health village at Ngorano Health Centre in the Mathira constituency. The memorandum of understanding delineates the collaborative efforts between the foundation and the county for developmental programs to foster socio-economic advancements in the area.

According to Kenya News Agency, the partnership will result in the optimal use of existing resources to meet various community needs. The Ngorano Health Centre is expected to be transformed to include a rehabilitation centre, community hospital, vocational training facility, and a sports centre, along with participating in tree-planting activities. Kahiga also mentioned the county’s collaboration with the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) in establishing Ihururu Rehabilitation Centre, which complements the services at Karia Rehabilitation Centre. He emphasized the county’s resolve to combat social challenges affecting the youth and outlined the envisioned rehabilitation centre at Ngorano as a pivotal step towards providing a supportive environment for those battling addiction and mental health issues.
