According to the Namibia Press Agency, the presidential candidate spoke at the party’s first star rally for the 2024 elections on Saturday. During her speech, Nandi-Ndaitwah reflected on Swapo’s 34-year history of governing and reiterated the party’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of Namibians. Highlighting the historical significance of Swapo as
the liberator from colonial oppression, she stressed the continuity of a vision centered on the wellbeing of the Namibian people.
Nandi-Ndaitwah detailed the party’s manifesto, which she described as both clear and realistic, with a strong focus on job creation, youth empowerment, and the beneficiation of natural resources. She singled out the Erongo Region, known for its fishing, tourism, and mineral resources, as having vast potential for development. The candidate emphasized Swapo’s commitment to adding value, particularly in uranium production, as a central component of its economic strategy.
The rally also marked the political reintegrations of Knowledge Ipinge, former Walvis Bay Urban Constituency councillor, and Hennie Seibeb, former chief whip of the Landless People’s Movement, highlighting a unifying approach ahead of the elections.
