Windhoek: The Electoral Commission of Namibia has declared the final results of the 2025 Regional Councils elections for the Okahandja Constituency within the Otjozondjupa Region. The results were announced on Friday night, shedding light on the political landscape of the region.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Local Authority elections witnessed the Swapo Party emerging with a significant lead, securing 3,480 votes. The Okahandja Rates Payer Association followed with 737 votes, while the Independent Patriots for Change garnered 647 votes. Other parties such as the Landless People's Movement and the United Democratic Front received 375 and 333 votes, respectively. The total number of votes counted for the Local Authority elections was 6,751.
In the Regional Council election, Betuel Tjaveondja of the Swapo Party led with 3,703 votes. Adons Hanse from the Landless People's Movement obtained 816 votes, and Martin van der Vyfer of the United Democratic Front received 787 votes. The election saw a total of 7,122 votes counted, with 23 ballots rejected.
The results reflect the continued dominance of the Swapo Party in the Okahandja Constituency, both in the Local Authority and Regional Council elections.
