Oshakati: The Electoral Commission of Namibia announced the final results of the 2025 Regional Council elections for the Oshana Region, with the Swapo Party emerging as the leading party across multiple constituencies.
According to Namibia Press Agency, in the Ompundja Constituency, Swapo's Uunona Adolf secured 1,275 votes, while Akawa Shavuka of the Independent Patriots for Change received 148 votes. The Okatana Constituency saw Swapo's Ashipala Shigwedha garnering 4,222 votes, with the Independent Patriots for Change's Josaphat Michael and Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters' Shilamba Tangeni receiving 409 and 117 votes, respectively.
In Okatyali Constituency, Swapo's Phillius Johannes obtained 880 votes, surpassing Nakanyala Rehabeam of the Independent Patriots for Change, who received 203 votes. Okaku Constituency results showed Swapo's Esther Fillemon winning with 4,442 votes. The Independent Patriots for Change's Paulus Eelu followed with 714 votes, while candidates from the Body of Christ Party, Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters, and Action Democratic Movement garnered 106, 100, and 20 votes, respectively.
Swapo continues its lead in the Uukwiyu Uushona Constituency, with Amundjindi Andrease receiving 2,769 votes. Nicodemus Matheus of the Independent Patriots for Change obtained 519 votes, and Nelongo Philipus from the Action Democratic Movement received 60 votes. In the Ondangwa Rural Constituency, Swapo candidate Abraham Kaushiweni received 2,438 votes, followed by Namulo David of the Independent Patriots for Change with 610 votes. Other candidates included Gabriel Linus of the Body of Christ Party with 495 votes, Moongo De Quellar of the Popular Democratic Movement with 65 votes, and Petrus Roimenaard of the Action Democratic Movement with 21 votes.
