Suspects are heading to court for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and dealing in drugs

Cloetesville police responded to a complaint of a shooting incident in progress. Upon entering Eike Street, they saw an unknown male who had trouble in hiding an object in his jeans. The members arrested and detained the suspect on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

In an unrelated incident police members attached to Operation Restore conducted High Density Patrols in Gugulethu when they responded to information. Upon arrival in Mbewan Street, they continued to the identified address and searched the premises. Their patience was rewarded when they discovered a consignment of dagga and cash, whic
h are believed to be the proceeds of crime. They arrested and detained a 36-year-old female on a charge of dealing in dagga.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Stellenbosch and Athlone Magistrates’ courts on the mentioned charges.
