Nyanga - Following diligent efforts by the Provincial Investigations Unit, a 32-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of business robbery and four counts of attempted murder. This arrest, made on January 11, 2024, comes in the wake of a violent crime spree that targeted a retail store and police officials in Nyanga.
According to South African Police Service, on June 12, 2023, at approximately 08:10, a group of male individuals stormed into a chain retail store located in a shopping mall in Nyanga. They held the staff at gunpoint and demanded the keys to the store's safe.
