OUAGADOUGOU: The Special Advisor to the President of Faso, Li YUBAO, has extended a gesture of solidarity by donating essential food items and financial aid to the widows and orphans of soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The donation ceremony took place Monday morning at the Central Directorate of Social Action for the Armed Forces and the Wounded in Operation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation package included bags of rice, corn, pasta, cans of oil, cartons of milk, and a financial envelope amounting to 12 million 500 thousand FCFA. This initiative aims to provide support during the end-of-year holiday season to those families who have lost their loved ones while serving the nation.
Li YUBAO emphasized the importance of this act, stating that the fallen soldiers sacrificed their lives for the defense of the homeland and the protection of its people. “They fought to give a better future to our nation,” he remarked, highlighting the nation’s responsibility to care for the families of these martyrs. Additionally, Li YUBAO pledged to cover the tuition fees for 500 orphans from primary school through university.
Colonel-Major Si© R©mi KAMBOU, the central director of social action for the armed forces and those wounded in operations, conveyed the gratitude of the beneficiaries. “We are satisfied with this donation which will allow widows and orphans to have a good time during these festive times. It is a relief for these widows,” he stated.
Colonel-Major KAMBOU also called upon individuals of goodwill to remember and support these families, underscoring the ongoing needs of the widows and orphans left behind.
