Supermarket Customers To Enjoy Reduced Prices Following Ease In Inflation

Naivas Chief of Strategy Andreas Von Paleske has affirmed that Kenyans will soon enjoy a reduction in prices on supermarket shelves following a decrease in import inflation.

The Chief of Strategy said inflation has affected customers and supermarkets in equal measure but the various government interventions aimed at reducing the cost of living have started to bear fruits.

‘What we have seen more recently is that inflation is coming down so we see import inflation reducing.

We hope the prices of our goods will reduce soon as the inflation imported goods has gone down,’ said Paleske during the opening of the 11th Naivas Coast branch making the supermarket giant have a total of 99 branches countrywide.

The Coast region, Paleske said has been underserved historically just recently Naivas opened its second store in the tourism city of Malindi. ‘What we have realized is not just the seasonal market I think the local economy is resilient and we have bigger plans for the Coast residents, he said’.

g of the Tudor-Saba Saba branch in Mombasa shows the supermarket’s commitment to gaining a foothold in the Coast market.

‘Next week we will open our 100 store it is a testament to the solidity of the business and what we have offered Kenyans for the last 30 years,’ said Paleske thanking customers and suppliers for trusting Naivas.

The supermarket has employed more than 10,000 people in the country committed to offering better prices to customers.

‘This is not us just expanding our branch network to hit a high store count, but a very calculated and strategic move leading the way in meeting customers right where they are. As always, our commitment is to Kenya and this new development is informed by the needs of the Tudor shoppers as informed by research and insights into the region,’ said Paleske.

The new store, Paleske said is designed to make shopping quick and easy for area customers and even beyond as it is strategically located within an area that is served by several matatu stages.

‘The new outlet, t
hough an express store format, has a well thought out product range offering, an assortment of farm fresh produce, dairy and meats, fast-moving consumer goods and general merchandise and delivering it all with the unmistakable Kenyan hospitality,’ he added.
