Super Galian Prize Villa Unclaimed, Rolls Over to 2025 Competition

OUAGADOUGOU — The coveted Super Galian prize, which includes a villa worth 18.5 million CFA francs, went unawarded at the 27th edition of the Galian Awards, held from Friday night to Saturday, due to no entry achieving the required minimum score.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister in charge of Communications, the threshold to win the Super Galian is a score of at least 17 out of 20. "Unfortunately, none of the works in competition obtained this mark," he expressed, reflecting on the high standards expected for the award. This year's Super Galian prize included a Type F3 villa provided by Kastor Immobilier and an additional 3 million CFA from the Ministry of Communication.

Despite the setback, the minister confirmed that the villa would be reintroduced in next year's competition. Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, president of the transitional legislative assembly, while praising journalists for their dedication amidst the security crisis, lamented the absence of a winner for the Super Galian this year. He recalled that the last 'Super Galian' in 2023 was secured by Souleymane SANOU of Radiodiffusion Télévision du Burkina with a score of 17.15/20.
