Sunna Design Illuminates Rural Togo with 30,000 Solar Streetlights

LOMÉ – In a significant step toward rural electrification, Sunna Design, a French company specializing in solar street lighting, has installed 30,000 solar streetlights in Togo’s rural areas. This initiative, part of a public-private partnership, aligns with Togo’s National Development Plan, aiming to enhance access to lighting across the country.

According to Africa News Agency, 500 solar streetlights are shipped weekly from Sunna Design’s Bordeaux factory to Togo, where a local team oversees their installation. This project not only improves nighttime security and living conditions for the Togolese people but also supports efforts to reduce rural migration by making these areas more livable. Sunna Design has set a goal to install a total of 50,000 streetlights by 2024, further contributing to the country’s rural revitalization efforts.
