Sugar Futures Rise on Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange.

Zhengzhou: Sugar futures closed higher Tuesday in daytime trading on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE). The most active sugar contract for January 2025 delivery gained 23 yuan (3.2 U.S. dollars) to close at 5,863 yuan per tonne.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the total trading volume for six listed sugar futures contracts on the ZCE was 262,236 lots, with a turnover of 15.34 billion yuan. China, as one of the world’s major consumers and importers of sugar, introduced sugar futures on ZCE in January 2006 to aid sugar-related enterprises in hedging against price volatility.
