Subukia Residents Anticipate Completion of Local Hospital’s Inpatient and Outpatient Complex

Subukia – The construction of the Inpatient and Outpatient Complex at Subukia Sub County Hospital is moving forward as scheduled, drawing positive reactions from local residents.

According to a new release by Kenya News Agency, the project’s construction is 45 percent complete since its inception earlier this year.

Engineers from public works, alongside the contractor, have been working around the clock to ensure timely completion. Maina, who led the team on an inspection tour, indicated that blocks A and B of the complex have reached an 80 percent completion rate. He confirmed that the contractor had assured the project would meet its deadline.

Residents of the Subcounty are hopeful that the completion of this facility will improve their access to specialized healthcare services. Previously, they had to travel to Bahati Subcounty Hospital or Nyahururu County Referral Hospital for such services. Grace Nyambura, a resident who recently sought antenatal services at the facility, expressed her optimism: “We have been assured of timely completion, and it is our wish that it is done without any hitches.”

Governor Susan Kihika had earlier commissioned the Sh120 Million infrastructure project in March. She stated that the facility would house minor surgical units as well as specialized dental and eye clinics. Additional plans for the complex include a laboratory, pharmacy, blood store, and an accident and emergency unit.
