Mouhoun: The President of the Special Delegation of the Kona municipality, Ali Sanou, led the traditional rotating flag-raising ceremony at the Kona departmental high school on Monday, January 5, 2026. Students were urged to embrace the values of discipline, respect, and responsibility during the event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the rotating national flag-raising ceremony at the high school saw participation from all constituted bodies, customary authorities, the Defense and Security Forces, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, as well as students, parents, and educational staff. The event began with tributes to the President of the Special Delegation, after which attendees sang the national anthem amidst the raising of the flag, symbolizing national unity and sovereignty.
The village chief commended the gathering for their dedication to civic values and expressed his gratitude to all participants. The headmaster of the school also addressed the attendees, introducing the school and thanking those who honored the ceremony with their presence.
