Windhoek: Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has encouraged learners who did not meet the required examination standards not to view their results as a failure, but rather as an opportunity for reflection and growth. Steenkamp made the remarks during the official announcement of the 2025 NSSCO and NSSCAS examination results in Windhoek on Tuesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency - English, Steenkamp urged learners to see this moment not as an end, but as a chance for reflection, renewal, and growth. She emphasized that education is a lifelong journey and that every challenge presents an opportunity to build resilience, strength, and improved outcomes.
Echoing the minister's sentiments, the ministry's Executive Director Erastus Haitengela stated that education offers many pathways and second chances. He advised learners not to view their results as a definitive measure of their potential or future. Haitengela encouraged them to see this as an opportunity to reflect, regroup, and try again with commitment, guidance, and support from all education stakeholders.
In a side interview with Nampa, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Dino Ballotti, highlighted that there are multiple pathways to success and encouraged learners to persevere. Ballotti reassured learners that a goal delayed is not a goal denied and emphasized that there are many pathways to success. He expressed pride in the learners' efforts, acknowledging that they have done their best, which is all that can be asked of them.
