The diplomatic convoy under the coordination of Ambassador Fragiskos Kostellenos, which left Mariupol three days ago, under extremely difficult conditions, successfully crossed the Ukraine-Moldova border.
The convoy initially consisted of 21 vehicles and 82 people.
More vehicles were added on the way.
On the Moldovan side of the border there is a team from the Greek Embassy in Bucharest, headed by Ambassador Sofia Grammata.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, on behalf of the government, expressed his gratitude to those who contributed to the successful outcome of the operation both on the ground and in Athens, under the coordination of Secretary General Themistoklis Demiris.
It is noted that, until further notice, the Consuls General in Mariupol, Manolis Androulakis, and in Odessa, Dimitris Dochtsis, continue to perform their work under particularly adverse conditions.
