Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, upon arrival today at the General Affairs Council of the European Union, made the following statement:
“The European agenda is broadened. We are facing significant dilemmas after the geopolitical developments related to the strategic autonomy, as well as the role of Europe in the world. In this debate, which will take place today at the General Affairs Council, to be continued at the Summit in October, Greece’s position is clear: we need more Europe. And we need more Europe to meet the challenges that already exist, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, but also future security challenges, the security in the Mediterranean, protection against potential refugee flows and, of course, consumer protection against sharp increases in energy prices”.
