Stallions of Burkina Faso Poised for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier Against Guinea Bissau

Marrakech – The Burkina Faso national football team, the Stallions, are gearing up for their first match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau. Coach Hubert Velud has expressed his confidence in the team’s preparation and resolve for the upcoming game.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Coach Velud highlighted the strong morale and motivation within the team, emphasizing their readiness for the challenge ahead. The importance of a strong start in the group stages was underscored to ensure momentum in the qualifying rounds. Team captain Bertrand Traoré voiced his and the country’s aspirations for World Cup qualification. Despite the injury of key player Edmond Tapsoba, the team remains focused, with Tapsoba providing moral support. Burkina Faso, placed in Group A alongside Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Djibouti, Egypt, and Guinea Bissau, will play their first two matches on November 17 against Guinea Bissau and November 21 against Ethiopia.
