Makueni: Stakeholders in the health sector in Makueni County have validated the medical laboratory strategic plan for 2025-2028, aiming to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of diagnostic services across health facilities in the region.
According to Kenya News Agency, the validation meeting took place on Tuesday at a hotel in Wote town, Makueni Sub-County, bringing together partners such as Amref Health Africa, Centre for International Education Bureau (CIHEB), Ministry of Health officials, and regulatory bodies. Speaking at the forum, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Joyce Mutua highlighted the crucial role of laboratories, emphasizing the need for efficiency and timely, credible results to ensure patients receive appropriate treatment and accurate prescriptions.

We must have laboratory results which are credible and timely," she stated while addressing stakeholders on Wednesday.
The CECM mentioned that the county will prioritize adopting innovative technology and improving infrastructure in all 242 health facilities, with 87 currently offering laboratory tests.
