Minsk: The special services of Belarus and Russia are facing the tasks of countering the aggressive aspirations of unfriendly countries and a lot has been done, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin said on Tuesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, “The State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Foreign Intelligence Service are facing difficult, specific tasks to ensure the security of our countries, to counter aggressive aspirations of unfriendly countries against the interests of our states. And quite a lot has already been done in this direction,” Naryshkin told reporters.
The special services of Russia and Belarus are ready to act proactively against the backdrop of NATO’s activities and increased escalation on the part of Europe around Ukraine, Naryshkin said. In case of a NATO aggression against the Union State, the damage will be inflicted on the entire bloc, but Poland and the Baltic states will suffer first, he added.
