Sourou: The special delegation of the municipality of Tougan adopted, from April 16 to 17, 2026, during its second ordinary session of the year, a revised budget of 377,950,323 FCFA for the 2026 financial year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this 48-hour session, chaired by its president, Ouigou Tiendrebeogo, allowed the members of the special delegation to examine and adopt the administrative and management accounts for the year 2025. The session involved deliberations of a financial nature and the examination and adoption of the amending budget for 2026 to accommodate unforeseen events.
At the conclusion of the session, the amended budget adopted amounted to 377,950,323 FCFA, comprising revenues, balances, and investments. The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Tougan, Ouigou Tiendrebeogo, indicated that this budget will contribute to reducing the operating deficit of the municipality.
"Our municipality has reduced its operating deficit, which has gone from 59 million FCFA in 2024 to 16 million FCFA at the end of 2025," Tiendrebeogo stated. He noted that difficulties in collecting revenue were particularly linked to the security context, but he expressed optimism that the situation is gradually improving.
Aboudou Tiama, a member of the special delegation, commended the quality of the discussions and the outcomes of the work. "The work was of high quality, with active participation from all delegates. I am also satisfied with the resources available to the municipality, despite the difficult context our province is going through," Tiama remarked.
