Special Delegation of Titao Provides Vital Support to Communal Volunteers

Loroum: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Titao, Sidiki Ganame, handed over food and fuel to the Communal Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the progressive improvement of the municipal council’s revenues has allowed the special delegation to dedicate a portion to the communal VDP. Sidiki Ganame, the President of the special delegation, emphasized the importance of this support given the gradual resumption of economic activities in the municipality. The allocation included food and fuel as a means to assist the municipal Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

The contribution, totaling 4 million FCFA, consisted of 45 bags of 50 kg rice, 15 bags of 50 kg beans, 20 20-litre jerrycans of oil, 40 cartons of spaghetti, 2 cartons of Nescafe, one carton of bouillon, 2 cartons of sugar, 18 cartons of sardines and salt, amounting to 3,449,000 FCFA, alongside 700,000 FCFA worth of fuel. Mr. Ganame noted that this donation is a preliminary measure, with hopes of mobilizing more revenue in the future.

Mr. Ganame highlighted the essential role of supporting the VDP in their mission to reclaim national territory, stating, “This war is not just a matter for the State, it is a matter for the Burkinabe people.” He stressed the municipality’s responsibility to aid and serve the local VDP in their efforts to restore the integrity of the national territory.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude, describing the donation as a crucial support that will enhance the motivation and mobility of the fighting forces on the ground. Responding to the call of the President of Faso, many citizens of Burkina Faso have joined the VDP to contribute to the national defense efforts. These volunteers, alongside the army, continue to demonstrate resilience and courage in their operations.
