Special Delegation of Koti Inaugurates New Classrooms for Tuy County High School

Ouagadougou: The special municipal delegation of Koti, in Tuy province, inaugurated a three-classroom building for the departmental high school. The ceremony gathered administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as parents, teachers, and students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the special municipal delegation of Koti has provided the high school with new educational infrastructure, consisting of a building with three electrified classrooms equipped with desks and benches. The project, with an estimated cost of 24,088,476 CFA francs, was financed through the municipality's funds and the local mining development fund.

The infrastructure was officially inaugurated in the presence of local authorities and stakeholders in the education sector. The president of the special municipal delegation of Koti, Lassinan Dierma, stated that the municipal authorities responded to the stakeholders' requests regarding the shortage of classrooms.

He explained that the project spanned three fiscal years (2023, 2024, and 2025) due to insufficient municipal funds. The first hall cost 6,777,330 FCFA, the second 8,794,055 FCFA, and the third 8,517,091 FCFA. Mr. Dierma expressed hope that this infrastructure would improve learning and working conditions for students and teachers.

He urged beneficiaries to utilize and maintain the new facilities. Recognizing the ongoing need for more classrooms, the municipal authority called on community members and partners to invest further in the high school.

The principal of Koti departmental high school, Alassane Lengani, expressed gratitude to the municipal authorities for the construction, describing it as a testament to the educational team's commitment. He assured that the classrooms would be dedicated to student success.

Staff representative Abdoul-Matino Sissao thanked those involved in the construction, noting that the new facilities alleviate the classroom shortage and enhance teaching and learning conditions. Student representative Malika Ouattara pledged to preserve the new building for future generations.

The ceremony included a tour of the new classrooms, named the "Koti Communal Special Delegation Building," with each classroom bearing the name of a high school principal involved in the project.
