Speaker of Bahraini Council of Representatives Hosts Chinese Delegation to Bolster Bilateral Ties

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, welcomed Zhang Baojuan, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress of Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China, and her delegation in a significant meeting aimed at enhancing Bahrain-China relations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting, also attended by Ni Ruchi, the Ambassador of China to Bahrain, and several Bahraini parliament members, focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. The Bahraini participants included First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, MPs Mohammed Yousif Al Maarafi, Maryam Saleh Al Dhaen, Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom, and Abdullah Khalifa Al Rumaihi.

Speaker Al-Musallam lauded the progress in bilateral relations, emphasizing the mutual support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and President Xi Jinping of China. He noted the strategic partnership’s potential to benefit both countries following a joint stat
ement issued during His Majesty’s visit to China in May.

Zhang Baojuan expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s commitment to cooperation, marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. She highlighted China’s eagerness to further political, economic, investment, and parliamentary collaborations, focusing on vital developmental sectors.
