Southwest State President of Somalia Meets UK Ambassador to Discuss Flood Relief and Cooperation

BAIDOA: The President of the Southwest State of Somalia, HE Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen), received the UK Ambassador to Somalia, Michael Nithavrianakis, in Baidoa. The meeting focused on various strategic and cooperative matters between the two nations.

According to Somali National News Agency, The discussions centered around plans to address the impact of floods, preparations for the second phase of the fight against Al-Shabaab terrorists, and strengthening bilateral cooperation. Ambassador Nithavrianakis expressed the UK’s solidarity and support for those affected by the floods and emphasized the UK’s commitment to assisting in the decentralization of government services. The meeting, which included the Ministers of Planning, Justice, Aid, and Public Works, underscores the importance of international partnerships in tackling natural disasters and security challenges in Somalia.
